2020 Coalition Health Fairs

Pre-registration is mandatory, and you must be eligible for benefits in order to have your tests 100% paid by Plan. Please note pre-registration ends on November 30, 2020.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Coalition Health Events will not be held in person and are offering alternative health event services. The Coalition is offering In-Home Lab Kits and drive-thru events for Flu Shots. You can pre-register for these services at www.coalitionhealthfair.org. August 2020 - Notice to Interested Parties for Southern Alaska Carpenters Retirement Plan

The Southern Alaska Carpenters Retirement Plan’s legal counsel is preparing an application to the IRS that will formally confirm the tax-exempt status for the Plan.  The application will be filed with the Internal Revenue Service on August 31, 2020.

In conjunction with this filing, the Plan is required to provide the enclosed notice to interested parties.  The notice may be provided to interested parties by posting it at the local unions and employer offices.

The latest date for comments as set forth in the notice is October 30, 2020. Please click the link below to view the notice.

March 2020 - COVID-19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and in the interest of keeping the community and our staff as safe and healthy as possible, all WPAS offices (Mercer Island, Gladstone, Anchorage, Spokane) will be closed for walk-in services effective March 17, 2020.  WPAS will only be conducting business via phone, email, or fax.  If you need to bring documentation or information to the office, there are drop boxes available at each of our office locations.  Contact information can be found here: Contact Info.


January 2020 - Affordable Care Act (ACA) Tax Provisions

Are you getting ready to file your 2019 federal income tax return? The Administration Office will be mailing the Form 1095-B by March 1, 2020. The form will identify if you and your family had qualifying health coverage for part or all of 2019. Please check to make sure the information on the form is accurate and keep it with the rest of your tax documents.

It is not necessary to wait for the Form 1095-B to file your taxes. Just like last year, you can check a box on your tax return, verifying you had qualifying health coverage.
